Sometimes I still find it hard to believe that I am a mother.
This precious child that calls ME, "Mommy!"
I feel so blessed to be able to wrap my arms around the Pink Princess in a giant "squeez-y hug". Moments like that remind me that I have the best job in the world. And gets me all misty eyed for the days when she was just a tiny little bundle, and we wondered what it would be like to hear her say, "mommy".
Now, I'll admit, there are days where I'd like to change my name. But I know, all too soon, she'll be off to college and I'll long for the day when I heard, "Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy!" a thousand time in an hour again.I honestly couldn't be more blessed. The Pink Princess has taught be so much about what it means to be a mom and even more about what it means to really live. One of the biggest, hardest lessons for me was learning to let go of plans I had before and after she was born. Did you know it really does take 4 times as long to get anything accomplished when you have a baby?! Instead, I exchanged them for something so much more rewarding. Is there anything more amazing then feeling a little hand reach for yours, beautiful brown eyes gaze up at you, and a little voice say, "Mommy, I love you?" Those moments really do make everything worth while, even if they just happen to be ice cream induced. Remember to laugh and play with you little ones. Be silly! Oh, how they love that! Do you remember your happy child hood moments? Strive to give your little ones moments just as good, or even better! The best part about Mother's Day is we are privileged to share all those wonderful moments and if we're lucky, plan many, many more! Sigh, the little girl that calls me "Mommy" has the most amazing eyes. I find myself getting lost in them. There is a whole world in there. And I am the privileged one. I get to kiss the lids that let those eyes sleep at night, the eyes of the little one that calls me, "Mommy". How do you use your Mommy Privileges?
